Can your AI publish to my website without my approval?
No, not unless you switch automation on. Automated Features, including publishing content to your websites and social channels, are off until you turn them on. They are opt-in. Enabling one authorises us to act on your behalf, and content may then publish without your prior review. You can switch back to manual review at any time.
- Automated Features, including scheduling and publishing content to your websites and social media channels, applying changes and operating an Agent on your behalf, are off until you switch them on. They are opt-in.
- In manual review, nothing is published to your live site without your approval. We share a watermarked preview or a staging version for you to review before anything goes live.
- Turning on an Automated Feature is a genuine authorisation: you accept that content may be published without your prior review, and you remain responsible for that content.
- Your customer portal includes an emergency stop that pauses Agent activity on your account. Using it may interrupt scheduled work, deployments and posts, and we are not responsible for the effects of pausing or for delays that result.
- AI can make mistakes. We review output and build in checks, but you are responsible for reviewing and approving what we deliver before it is published or relied upon.
The default is off
Our Terms of Service are explicit. Some Services can run automatically, including scheduling and publishing content to your websites and social media channels, applying changes, and operating an Agent on your behalf. Automated Features are off until you switch them on. They are opt-in.
So to the question as most people mean it, the answer is no. An agent does not begin posting to your live site because you became a client. Nothing publishes automatically until you decide to allow it.
Two modes, and the difference is real
In manual review, you approve before anything goes live. Our SLA puts it plainly: nothing is published to your live site without your approval, except where you have switched on an automation that publishes on your behalf. Before anything goes live we share a watermarked preview or a staging version for you to review. Under our terms, if you do not provide approval or specific written objections within 10 business days of us sharing a preview or staging version, the work is deemed accepted.
Full automation is the other mode, and it means what the name says. If you enable it, content can be published without you seeing it first. We are not going to sell you the safety of manual review while describing something that works differently. Choose the mode that matches how much oversight you want.
Switching automation on is an authorisation, with consequences
The terms state it directly: by enabling an Automated Feature, for example full-automation social posting, you authorise Varsuite and its agents to act on your behalf within that feature, you accept that content may be published without your prior review, and you remain responsible for that content.
There is a liability consequence you should read before you switch anything on. Subject to the limitation of liability section of the terms, we are not liable for losses arising from content or actions you authorised us to automate, except to the extent such losses cannot be excluded by law or arise from our breach of those terms. Our SLA also excludes automation you enable, including content it publishes on your behalf, from its service targets and service credits.
It is reversible, and there is an emergency stop
You can switch any automation back to manual review, or pause everything using the emergency stop, at any time. Your customer portal includes an emergency stop that pauses Agent activity on your account. It is provided to give you control, and it is not decorative.
The honest caveat, which is in the terms: using it may interrupt scheduled work, deployments and posts, and we are not responsible for the effects of pausing or for delays that result. Use of the emergency stop is also excluded from the SLA's targets and credits. It is a brake, not a rewind. It stops what is coming, it does not undo what has already gone out.
Where the honest risk sits
AI can make mistakes. While we review output and build in checks, you are responsible for reviewing and approving what we deliver before it is published or relied upon. We do not warrant that AI output is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose. Where originality matters to you, our answer on whether AI-written content is plagiarised sets out what we do and do not warrant about resemblance to existing material, and what you should check.
That is the trade you are making when you enable automation: speed in exchange for a review step you have chosen to skip. It suits some content and some businesses, and not others. Read the automation and authorisation section of our Terms of Service before you decide.
Does a person check every automated post before it goes out?
No. That is the point of full automation: content can be published without your prior review. If you want a human approval gate on every item, keep the automation switched to manual review, where you approve before anything goes live.
How quickly does the emergency stop take effect?
The terms do not put a time on it, and we will not invent one. What we can say is what it does: it pauses Agent activity on your account. Using it may interrupt scheduled work, deployments and posts, and we are not responsible for the effects of pausing or for delays that result.
How do routine changes reach my site if automation is off?
Routine content and design changes requested through the agent terminal are usually prepared quickly on a staging environment for your review, then go live once you approve. Our SLA calls this illustrative of how we work rather than a service target or a guaranteed time.
Who is responsible for content an automation publishes for me?
You are. By enabling an Automated Feature you authorise us to act on your behalf within it, you accept that content may be published without your prior review, and you remain responsible for that content. Subject to the limitation of liability section of our Terms of Service, we are not liable for losses arising from content or actions you authorised us to automate, except to the extent such losses cannot be excluded by law or arise from our breach of those terms.
