Smallworld IT
A fast, content-rich marketing site for Smallworld IT, a UK managed IT and cyber security provider, built on Laravel with a securely grounded AI IT-support assistant, hundreds of SEO-optimised service, product and location pages, and live industry news. Built in a week.
The challenge
Smallworld IT is a long-established UK managed service provider, looking after IT support, cloud and cyber security for businesses across Surrey, Hampshire and London. A firm like that lives and dies by two things online: being found when a local business searches for IT support, and giving that business a reason to get in touch. Their old site did neither well. They needed a fast, modern, deeply search-optimised website that covered every service, product and location they serve, and that quietly turned visitors into enquiries.
What we built
We designed and built Smallworld a bespoke marketing site on Laravel, from a custom design system up, with search and lead generation baked into the foundations.
- Hundreds of pages, built to be found. The whole site is driven from structured content, which let us generate a deep hierarchy of service, product and sub-service pages at scale, over two hundred of them, each properly optimised with its own meta, headings and structured data. It covers everything from Managed Cloud and Cyber Security to Microsoft 365, firewalls, VoIP and backup.
- Local SEO done properly. Dedicated "IT support near you" pages for the towns Smallworld serves, from London and Guildford to Woking, Farnham, Bordon and Petersfield, so they show up for the searches that actually bring in local business.
- A securely grounded AI assistant. The homepage leads with a Smallworld AI assistant that lets a visitor describe an IT problem and get pointed the right way, instantly. It answers only from a verified knowledge base about Smallworld's own services, so it stays accurate and on-brand, and it is hardened against prompt-injection and misuse so it cannot be talked off-script.
- Live industry news. The site pulls in and caches security and vendor news from trusted sources and maps it to the relevant service and product pages, so it stays fresh without anyone updating it by hand.
- Lead capture front and centre. A clear "free IT review" journey and smart contact forms that pre-select the service or product a visitor came in for, so enquiries arrive with context already attached.
- A proper migration. We mapped every one of their old site's URLs across to the new structure with permanent redirects, so their existing search ranking carried over instead of being lost.
A fast, custom-built marketing site with hundreds of SEO-optimised pages, local landing pages, a securely grounded AI IT-support assistant and live industry news, on a bespoke design system. Built in a week.
The result
Smallworld went from a dated site to a fast, modern one built to win local search and turn visitors into enquiries. Every service, product and location they serve now has a real page behind it, the AI assistant gives visitors an instant, accurate first answer, and the whole thing keeps itself current. Because it is a genuinely complex build under the surface, hundreds of generated pages, an AI layer and a full content migration, it took a week rather than a weekend, and it shows.
