The challenge: a product catalogue engineers can search and trust

Superclamp is the lifting-equipment brand of Riley (Lifting Equipment) Ltd, a UK manufacturer based in Colne, Lancashire, and the owner of the SUPERCLAMP trade mark. The range covers girder clamps, beam trolleys, universal side loading clamps and custom-built attachments, engineered to comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and supplied to industry professionals worldwide. This is not an impulse purchase. A buyer is an engineer or a specifier who needs the right model, the right load rating and the right assembly drawing before they enquire.

The brief was to turn a deep technical catalogue into a website an engineering audience can search in seconds and trust on sight. It had to carry the SUPERCLAMP brand and the weight of Riley's manufacturing heritage, make every product's specification and drawing easy to find, and turn that into an enquiry, without ever pretending to be a shop. Selling here is enquiry-led, not a checkout.

What we built: a searchable Superclamp catalogue with a technical downloads library

We designed and built Superclamp a brand-new website on Laravel, built around the brand: a hard-wearing, high-contrast industrial look with a strong red accent, heavy headings and monospace model numbers, so the site feels as engineered as the products. It is fast and mobile-first, and it puts the range, the specifications and the drawings front and centre.

  • A catalogue organised the way engineers buy. Four product ranges, girder clamps, beam trolleys, universal side loading clamps and custom products, each with its own listing page and per-product detail pages carrying specification tables, a product photo and a separate technical drawing. The whole catalogue is editable content, so a new model or a spec change is a quick edit rather than a developer job.
  • Live product search that speaks model number. A search box across the site returns instant suggestions as you type, matching on product name, model number and specifications, with the matched model number highlighted and a full results page behind it. An engineer who knows they want a B3 or a GBT5 gets there in one move.
  • A technical downloads library, not a buried PDF. More than 90 assembly-drawing documents are grouped by category and served through a secure download route, so specifiers can pull the exact drawing they need, and every download links back to the product it belongs to.
  • Enquiry, not checkout. A contact and enquiry form is the front door for the whole site. Arrive from a product page and it pre-fills with that product, so the enquiry arrives already linked to the product that prompted it, ready for the team to action, and routed straight to the right person to reply.
  • The safety and heritage story, told properly. A company section and a full set of safe-use guides, from beam-clamp and beam-trolley guidance to inspection, safe use and replacing worn or damaged parts, give the audience the LOLER-aligned detail they expect from a specialist manufacturer.
  • Easy for the team to keep current. A secure, login-gated admin area lets the team manage ranges and products, edit specification tables, upload product photos and schematic drawings, attach and reorder documents, and mark products featured or active, all without touching code.

Built to be found by brand and by model number

The site is built to rank for the searches that matter to a lifting-equipment manufacturer: the SUPERCLAMP brand, the product ranges and individual model numbers. Every page ships with its own title, meta description and canonical, plus rich social share previews, on a fast, mobile-first build. A structured-data layer describes the organisation, each product and its breadcrumb trail, and the home page pairs a real, visible FAQ with matching structured data, the kind of detail search engines read to describe a business accurately. A sitemap and clean, readable markup round it off, so buyers searching by brand or by model land on Superclamp's own pages.

Common questions about the Superclamp website

Is the Superclamp site an online shop?

No. It is an enquiry-led catalogue for a B2B engineering audience, with products supplied to industry professionals worldwide. Every product routes to a pre-filled enquiry rather than a checkout.

How does someone find a specific model?

Live search matches on name, model number and specifications and highlights the model as you type, so an engineer who already knows the model they want reaches its spec sheet and assembly drawing in a single move.

Can the team update products themselves?

Yes. A login-gated admin area lets the team add and edit ranges, products, specification tables, images and downloadable drawings, so the catalogue stays current without a developer.

A rugged, brand-led catalogue website that lets an engineering audience find any Superclamp product by model number, pull its assembly drawing and turn a search into an enquiry.

The result: a Superclamp catalogue that turns a search into an enquiry

Superclamp now has a website that matches the products: fast, robust and genuinely useful to the engineers who buy from it. The full range is searchable by model number, every product carries its specification and its drawing, and the technical library puts more than 90 documents a click away. Enquiries arrive pre-tagged to the product that prompted them, the team can keep the catalogue current themselves, and the SUPERCLAMP brand and Riley's manufacturing heritage come through on every page. A deep technical catalogue is now a confident, searchable shop window for a worldwide audience.
