Do I need a website care plan?

If we build your website, the care plan is not an optional extra: it is how the site stays hosted, monitored and editable, at £100 a month for a brochure site or £150 a month for an online store, before VAT. One fee covers hosting, security monitoring and code scanning, content changes on request, and unlimited content and design changes within fair and reasonable use. If the plan ends, those things end with it.

In short
  • The plan includes hosting, security monitoring and code scanning, unlimited changes within the scope of your plan, content modifications on request, and brand guideline updates whenever you need them.
  • £100 a month for a brochure site, £150 a month for an online store, before VAT, with no per-change fees within fair and reasonable use.
  • An active plan is what our SLA attaches to: first response to urgent issues within 2 business hours, and a 99.9% monthly uptime target for the hosting we provide.
  • The targets are goals we work hard to meet, not guarantees, and they are first response times rather than fix times. Service credits of up to 10% of the month's fee are the remedy if the hosting uptime target is missed.
  • If the monthly subscription ends, the hosting, monitoring and changes it covers end with it.

What does the care plan actually include?

Five things, all in one fee: hosting for the service the plan covers, security monitoring and code scanning, unlimited changes within the scope of your plan, content modifications on request, and updates to your brand guidelines whenever you need them. There are no per-change fees within fair and reasonable use, and no ticket allowance to ration through the month.

The fee is £100 a month for a brochure site and £150 a month for an online store, both before VAT, and it is listed alongside the build prices on our pricing page. On the store plan the same monthly fee also carries the daily AI blog, SEO and AIO automation and the sales dashboard.

What does it get you when something goes wrong?

An active plan is what our SLA attaches to. During Business Hours, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm UK time, first response targets run from 2 business hours for an urgent issue where the site is down, through 4 business hours for a major feature broken, to 1 business day for normal changes and questions and 2 business days for minor cosmetic issues. Monitoring of what is live runs around the clock; support runs in Business Hours.

For the hosting we provide, we target 99.9% monthly uptime, and if we miss it in a month through a fault we are responsible for, you can claim a service credit of up to 10% of that month's fee. Two honest readings to take with those numbers: the targets are goals we work hard to meet, not guarantees, and they are first response times, not fix times. The full picture, including what is excluded, is in our answer on what happens when your website breaks.

Do you need one if your site rarely changes?

The question usually assumes a care plan is a bundle of changes, so a static site does not need one. But even a site that never changes needs hosting to stay online, monitoring to spot trouble, and security attention as threats appear, and code that is never maintained ages whether or not the pages do. That work exists for every site; the only question is who does it and what it costs when it is skipped.

On our model the question mostly answers itself, because the plan is the hosting. Our terms put it plainly: the monthly fee applies for as long as the website is live. The changes side is then there when you want it rather than a reason to pay, and there is no cheaper hosting-only tier we are quietly not mentioning; the published plan is the arrangement.

What does it not cover, and what happens if it ends?

The plan does not include net-new builds, additional products or wholly new functionality; work of that kind is scoped and quoted separately, with custom work starting from £1,000. Live AI agents carry their own £150 a month fee per agent, and the SLA's uptime target and credits do not apply to agent availability.

If the plan ends, the hosting, monitoring and changes it covers end with it. You can cancel with at least 30 days' written notice, taking effect at the end of the current paid month, and on termination you can ask us to export or return a copy of the content and data we hold for you. Who owns what at that point has its own answer, and if you want to talk any of it through first, ask us directly.

Follow-up questions

Can I skip the monthly plan and host the site myself?

Not under our standard terms: brochure sites are £500 plus £100 a month, and the monthly fee applies for as long as the website is live. A signed Quote takes precedence over the standard terms for that piece of work, so if you want a different arrangement, raise it before we start and we will tell you straight whether we can do it.

Is the 99.9% uptime guaranteed?

No. It is a target, measured per service per calendar month for the hosting we provide, and our SLA is explicit that its targets are goals rather than guarantees. If we miss it through a fault we are responsible for, a service credit of up to 10% of that month's fee, claimed in writing within 30 days and applied to a future invoice, is the sole financial remedy.

Does the plan cover adding new features to my site?

No. Net-new builds, additional products and wholly new functionality are outside the plan and are scoped and quoted separately, with custom work starting from £1,000. What is inside: content and design changes to the site you have, within fair and reasonable use, with no per-change fees.

Is an AI agent covered by the same care plan?

No, each live agent has its own £150 a month fee, which keeps it operational and covers updates, integrations, monitoring and tuning. The SLA's hosting uptime target and service credits do not apply to agent availability, which can depend on third-party AI providers.
