Yes, Varsuite has two apps live on the Garmin Connect IQ Store, published under the Varsuite developer name.

• Wristling: Pixel Pet is a device app that puts a virtual pixel pet on your wrist.
• Overhead: Live Aircraft Radar shows live aircraft flying overhead on the watch, pulling data from the web through the paired phone.

How do Connect IQ apps work technically?

Connect IQ apps are written in Monkey C, Garmin's own programming language, and built with the Connect IQ SDK, which compiles one project for each Garmin watch you choose to support.

A few technical realities shape every build:

• Memory limits: each device and app type has its own memory ceiling, and watch faces and data fields get the least, so code and graphics must be lean
• Many screens: round, semi-octagon and rectangular displays at different resolutions, handled with per device layouts and resources
• Battery: watch faces normally redraw once a minute in low power mode, so animation and frequent updates need care
• Connectivity: watches reach the internet through the Garmin Connect app on the paired phone (or over Wi-Fi on some models), and background services can fetch data on a schedule
• Settings: users change app settings from their phone through Connect IQ

We test in the Connect IQ simulator across your chosen devices, write unit tests with the SDK's test framework, and check on real watches before release.

Can a Garmin app talk to a phone app or my own system?

Yes, a Garmin app can exchange data with a companion iOS or Android app using the Connect IQ Mobile SDK, and it can fetch data from web APIs through the paired phone.

That opens up a lot:

• Showing live data from your own platform on the wrist
• Sending workout or sensor data from the watch back to your system
• Pairing the watch app with a mobile app for set up, accounts and richer screens

Where your data does not yet have a clean way out, our API development work builds a lightweight, watch friendly API that returns only what the watch needs, keeping responses small enough for its memory.

How much does it cost to build a Garmin app?

The cost depends on the type of app, the number of watches it supports and where its data comes from, so Varsuite builds a free working demo first and then agrees a fixed quote before work starts.

How do you publish to the Connect IQ Store and look after the app?

We package your app, prepare the store listing, screenshots and descriptions, and submit it to the Garmin Connect IQ Store, then handle anything Garmin's review asks us to change.

Apps are usually published under your own Garmin developer account so the listing belongs to you. Review times are set by Garmin, not by us, so we plan launch dates with that in mind.
